Using naturalistic data to assess e-cyclist behavior

Publication Year:

2016

Summary:

In this study of 12 riders on bicycles outfitted with monitoring devices, electric bicycles were ridden faster on average than traditional bicycles and interacted differently with other road users. The results suggest that countermeasures for bicycle crashes should be different for electric and traditional bicycles.
